Shawl Wrap

I haven't ever considered making myself a shawl or wrap until I realized how many weddings we have to attend this coming Summer & Fall. I thought what a great way to accessorize and create something for myself!  I knew that I wanted it in natural, with a pattern not too airy so that it would be great to use in the Fall too.

Mypicot.com has many great patterns & designs listed.  I've used so many for blankets, hooked bags, and the trims!  So for this I chose #2011, as I liked how it looks upon repeating.

I started it in bamboo crochet thread, but after making so many baby blankets in this I decided that I wanted something a bit firmer so that it didn't feel like I had a blankey draped on my arms hehehe!  So I decided on the basic #10 cotton in natural with a size 6 hook.  650 stitches (or so, I will recount again!) long, which makes it approx. 67" long.  I'm undecided on how wide I am going to make this, but right now I'm thinking about 24".   I started it on February 12th and have been hooking away on it in the evenings while the hubby works on his photos.  I am amazed at how far along I am already! I can't wait to see it once it's finished and all the stitches laying nicely and perfect :)
